Fanfare Melodia

Fanfare Melodia (Fanfare) is a musician and an automaton. She performs by singing, with a slightly tinny voice spanning from soprano all the way down to tenor, and accompanies herself with what sounds like strings and high/mid brass instruments, visibly incorporated into her body. When not performing, she’s slightly on the shy side, preferring to observe for a while before she attempts to interact. In a one-on-one conversation, though, she warms up quickly. Either way, once properly engaged in the conversation, she is personable and quick with a joke.

She used to travel with a troupe. “Well-known” might be pushing it, but they had performed in all sorts of places, providing more than a few folks with fond memories. She doesn’t like to talk about what happened to the troupe or why they’re no longer traveling together.

She carries a rapier and a hand crossbow, but in combat she mostly relies on magic, with a mix of healing, distraction, and harm in her repertoire. During downtime, she uses her magical abilities to lighten the load, summoning invisible helpers to set up camp or gather firewood, using her own magic to clean things up or provide useful tools, and providing some music to lighten the mood.

Fanfare is traveling to search for members of her old troupe: a showman named Leander Lysandic, her brother Fanfare Harmonicus, a young dancer named Nithia, and a few others. In every town we visit, she tries to find at least one well-informed/well-connected/observant person and ask if they’ve seen any of these people; none have, at least not recently, though a few remember Lysandic’s troupe and even Fanfare herself from their touring days a couple years ago.
